Five Favorites--4/26

Joining Hallie once again for Five Favorites.  Yeah!!

1.  My favorite thing is when I can go thrifting and get exactly what I want.  I have been looking for a braided belt, $2.  Check!  I was going to stop at WalMart after Goodwill to get another plastic tote for packing up the house and low and behold look at what was at Goodwill.  $4.  Check!  I have this thing for coffee mugs and always looking for any that catch my eye at thrift stores.  $1 "N" mug.  Check!

2.  I have been craving me some Dunkin' Donuts coffee so when I ran out off coffee this was a must. (And you can see my love of all things Trader Joe's in the background!)

3.  I had my last class of the semester today, woohooo!  Because it was the last one and we needed to fit in a little more lecture we began class at 7 instead of 8.  If I am going to class at 7 I am wearing slippers and not going to be ashamed.  I liked it so much that this will defiantly be a favorite thing next year.

4.  New sisters being inducted (and brothers!).  I don't think I ever love my household more than at induction time.  This is defiantly a favorite thing and even the RAs were excited about it.

5.  I started studying for finals on Wednesday.  I will just go ahead and pat myself on the pack because the final isn't until this coming Friday.  The studying isn't a favorite thing but the organizing for the studying sure is.

And what do you know coffee made it in yet again.  I am telling you I don't really plan this, the love of the liquid gold just flows over.

Sunday Goodwill Haul

Remember when I talked about going to Goodwill on Sunday?  Well here is my loot.

I love the pattern and colors of this skirt. At only $3.50 it just had to be in my closet.

This shower curtain was $9.99 and new from Target, perfect for next year.  The colors and pattern are just gorgeous.  The owl one is on the path to being gross by the end of the semester.

Finally a grandma mug.  I got this for my grand-big in household.  I have been hoping to find one for a while and finally found one I liked.

I restrained myself from many other things.  Simplicity is a virtue.

Day in the Life on Fall Break.

So this past Thursday was the first official day of fall break, or as it is officially called All Saints Break because we are a passionate Catholic University and make sure to remember that even if it is a secular holiday it probably has a Catholic origin (Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, Halloween...).

The morning started with coffee, TV, and laptop time with my roommate.

She will really appreciate that I found it necessary to put this picture in the blog but then again this was the better of the two.

She still had to go to Mass but I had been to Vigil Mass the night before in one of the dorms.

At 12, I went to a late brunch in the caf with some household sisters.

How good it is to spend unhurried time with my sisters enjoying good coffee and good conversation.

Next up was some shopping at Goodwill and Gabe's.

At Goodwill I found some great Christmas glasses that will make a perfect gift for my mom for Christmas and at Gabes bought a tan sweatshirt material poncho. I could get the glasses out of my car and pull the poncho out of my closet to take a picture but that would mean this post wouldn't be published for another 4 days.

Soon after this we went to our household's advisor's house for some All Saint's Day celebrating. We played bored games, watched Oliver and Company with her family, ate pizza, and partook in some of her famous margaritas. Mmmmmm.

Being the day after All Saints Trick-or-Treating of course there was massive amounts of candy consumption.

Most of these are from telling all the Laffy Taffy jokes in the basket.

And course what would it be without some more Angel fun.

Thrifting.

Nothing says a Saturday in fall like a little thrifting with the roomsies.

First we stopped by a garage sale. I am such a sucker for garage sales.

Leaf platter $1.25 and a Giani Bernini cross over purse for $1

Next we went to Goodwill. I like the Goodwill in Steubenville because it is smaller than the one back home and thus less overwhelming. Here is the loot.

Don't you just love the owl detail on this belt!!

And I just love this mug, I thin it is so gorgeous!! (Sorry I can't figure out how to get it to upload flipped.)

Yellow Platter-$2
Mug-$0.50
Sweater-$4
Jeans-$7
Owl Belt- $2.99
Other Belt- $2

I love Saturday's thrifting because you are able to find unique items that are good for the environment and the bank account.
