Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Happy Feast of the Assumption of Mary.  Isn't it great to be Catholic and have so many feast days to celebrate?!  St. Maximillion Kolbe yesterday and Our Lady of the Assumption today.  I am off to put on some blue and head down to Little Italy to celebrate.  Here are some pictures from the past week or two.
{pretty}

There is a beauty to fresh fruit.  I have been loving blueberries and peaches together this week.

{happy}
How can you not be happy about finishing your first 5k!

{funny}
I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before.  I am just glad I thought of it before I have some little ones of my own.  I can't even take credit for this, I was just going to take him out in his Bumbo it was his sister that suggested the walker.  Genius.  He was so content in his walker watching his brother and some of the neighborhood kids play wiffle ball while he played with his toys and drooled another bib to soaking.  But isn't their just something so funny about a babe in a hat in a walker in the driveway.  You should have seen his grinning face.

{real}
This is real life right here.  (Sorry for the awkward screen shot.)

{p,h,f,r}:Angel Edition

round button chicken

We went on household retreat this past and we chubbed (moved the intents on to the next level in the formation process) on Tuesday so it has been a very household rich week and I wouldn't have it any other way.

{pretty}
I have a little!!  Ain't she so pretty!!  I couldn't decide whether to put this under pretty or happy because being her big just brings me so much joy!!

{happy}

We console the heart of Christ by offering our thanks to his Sacred Heart.  For all those ministry junkies out there we nailed our weaknesses to the cross at the beginning of the weekend, on the last day we removed those, added a large sacred heart and pinned our gratitude list to His heart.

{funny}

The nursing angels minus one.  The craziest ones of the bunch.

These are my sisters.

The gift I gave to my goddaughter on her Baptism.  So beautiful!!

{happy}

This color combo made me so happy!!

We had a bake sale to raise money for our Haiti mission trip.  It made me so happy how much money we made and seeing the team interact.

{funny}

Only at Franciscan do you find a miraculous medal hidden among a bunch of change aquired at above bake sale

When I was home for the baptism I worked for my mom one day sending out 1500 letters to parishioners who gave money during 2012.  I came out victorious with only one paper cut!!

These lab values are going to get the best of me.

If you are a visitor from Like Mother, Like Daughter I hope you will follow me and come back for more posts about nursing school, Our Lady, and Haiti just to name a few!!

Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Ok, I couldn't pick just one picture in most of these categories.  I just had too many wonderful pictures to share.  It has been crazy being back at school but oh so very blessed!

{pretty}

One of my best friends and big in household, Emily, came into town for the weekend.  If I do say so myself, we are a pretty pair.

{happy}

FOP this past weekend.  It makes my soul happy to see so many students and visitors praising the Lord.

Shopping with some sisters, made even sweeter by finding some great items.

Chick-fil-a can always make you happy.  (Sad story-half that milkshake spilled in my car.)

{funny}

This picture isn't funny in it of itself.  After Mass on Sunday, I went with a ton of the people I transfered in with, many of whom had graduated but were visiting,  to a beloved breakfast spot in town.  This picture may not be funny but trust me that many laughs were had together.

Breakfast at said beloved breakfast place.

Last Friday I had to sit in this classroom from 8-11 and again from 1-4:30, nothing more real than that.   During this time we learned lab values and their significance, for real we are becoming nurses.

The power point for said class had 192 slides. Real life.

The Steubenville rape case, though not in any way associated with the University, is so sad.  Students gather to watch the Dr. Phil special about our beloved town.

Live joy.

Gift from a family friend. Love it!

{happy}

This color combo keeps me o so happy. I am telling you I can't get away from the shades of grey and brown.

{funny}

When my dogs go to the vet they have to take a sedative before they go because otherwise they get entirely too worked up and the visit isn't very effective. It has this hilarious hilariously awful side effect of dropey eyes for Sunny. This picture is sedative Sunny fresh from a bath with a overwhelming stench faint smell of wet dog. If that didn't make you laugh I don't know what does.

I have been spending a whole lot of time on the couch, hot drink in hand reading, on the internet, or watching TV. That is what break is for right? And among that I have been reading Jesus of Nazareth which is continuing to blow my socks away. I know I have been talking about it for while now but what can I say I am a slow reader. It is all part of my "13 books in 13" gig that you can read about by clicking on the above brand spank'n new navigation bar. I know I am getting fancy around here.
